The sprites look very nice but the boat mechanics are still a bit unsatisfying. The tides make your boat too slow and you have to go to the other side of the map to get tides that go in the direction you want to go. But, when you get there, the tides have already changed and your boat becomes slow again
Thank you for your comment!
You might want to check the winds again, because last I heard, they do not change at all. In any case, do also try to upgrade the motor and use it to help you get where you need to go.
i like the fact that you can see the available commands in a corner of the screen at all times, it's a very nice touch and it definitely adds to the relaxing vibe
Thank you! :)
The game works fine, i didn't encounter bugs for the time a played it. I have some perplexities about the fuel (it lasts for just a couple of seconds), the fishing (sometimes the green bar lasts for a few frames and is somehow frustrating) and the wind, if you happen to be against it you are just gonna be really slow and it seems to never change direction.
I don't know how many fishes there are (I found three types) but I'm gonna catch them all.
Thank you for your feedback :)
You might want to fish for a while and sell the fish to buy some motor upgrades in the Boat Info menu. In any case, the motor is intended as a small help, rather than as the main mean of movement.
As for the fishing, the frustration is part of the experience ;)
The game has delightful aesthetic and overall smooth gameplay experience, with the exception of a few elements that I personally found somewhat clunky, particularly the boat commands. Currently, initiating fishing requires pressing three different keys in sequence, and I believe it would nicer if transitioning between stopping the boat and starting to fish could be a more seamless process. Also i believe it is an intended meccanic but its impossible to go against the wind. In real world sailing you can go against wind by following a zig zag pattern: https://www.deepsailing.com/how-to-sail-against-wind
Thank you very much for your kind feedback!
You are right about the complex boat keys, and we are working on improving it.
As for going against the wind, the motor is particularly useful but may require some upgrades before it can really help. You can check and get upgrades in the Boat Info menu.
