Through John's Eyes

John is an introvert guy from a small town in the US countryside. He has a solitary life and he's very creative though he's not empathetic. Guide him in a journey in his consciousness through the places of his childhood as they are printed in his mind. Fight his inner monsters to make him understand the importance of emotions, discovering John’s story in this Metroidvania-cartoon-styled game.

“Through John’s Eyes” is a 2D metroidvania hack’n’slash single player game. Playing, you see how the game world changes under your eyes by changing John’s emotional state. Make him fight extravagant enemies in a big world set in his mind and experience with John a dynamic journey in his subconscious through emotion themed areas linked to John’s past events.

Unravelling John’s story you will unlock new skills, upgrades and emotional states each one with its own characteristics that will help you to progress in the game.
Due to the nature of the game world the graphic style is immersive, magical, cartoon-ish. The game have a soundtrack that changes according to the emotional state of John to transmit it to the player both visually and acoustically.

We want to give our players a unique, fresh approach to the metroidvania genre, letting them to change the way they interact with a reactive environment while giving them its classic action-explorative skill-based experience. It will be like playing “Hollow Knight” in the “Steven Universe” world.
